On the occasion of the 18th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held on 3 December 2009, the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Department of Social Services, the National Foundation for the Development of the Disabled Persons (JPUF), and the National Forum of Organizations Working with the Disabled (NFOWD) jointly organized a discussion and cultural program at Rabindra Sarobar, Dhanmondi 8, Dhaka.
The Disabled Welfare Society (DWS) participated in the event with its General Secretary and a group of beneficiaries. DWS beneficiaries enthusiastically performed music during the cultural segment, which drew wide appreciation from the audience and enhanced the organization’s reputation.
In addition, on 26 December 2009, DWS officials, staff, and beneficiaries took part in a special program at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center, where the Honorable Prime Minister was present to distribute educational and assistive materials among persons with disabilities. At this event as well, DWS beneficiaries contributed through musical performances, earning recognition and appreciation for the organization at the national level.
