During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Disabled Welfare Society (DWS) provided financial assistance to persons with disabilities to help them cope with the economic impact of the crisis.
Local beneficiaries received cash directly from the office, while those living farther away were supported through bKash mobile transactions. Ms. Morjina Ahmed, Executive Director of DWS, personally distributed cash to nearby beneficiaries, while distant recipients received funds through the organization’s accounts officer, Mr. Abul Kalam.
This initiative provided crucial support to underprivileged persons with disabilities in the area, helping them meet their basic needs during the pandemic.
