Management of DWS:

GC DWS management has two tiers. General Committee (GC) and Executive have 21 members. Committee is the supreme decision making authority of the organization. The representatives of different stakeholders like PWD groups, professionals, Local Elites and resource persons form it. Basically it is the general body of the organization. GC meets at least once in a year and approves activates/programs along with the budget.

Executive Committee:

The organization –DWS is governed by a 7- member Executive Committee elected every 3 (Three) years by the General Committee (GC) of 21 members coming from different level. The EC generally meets bi-monthly to review and follow –up the status of planned activities and achievements to advise the secretariat, the course of action to implement the programs/activities approved by the GC. Recent election was held on 26 December, 2022.

The General Secretary is the chief Executive of the organization. She is responsible to implement the decision of Executive committee and General Committee with assistance of members’ volunteers and secretarial staff. The General Secretary represents the organization. The President is the head of the organization that is responsible to preside over the meetings and approve the adopted decisions of GC and EC.

Financial management:

The organization itself and its accounts section will be responsible for financial management. As the organization has specific financial policy, so in the matter of financial management the organization maintains specific procedure. The finance & accounts (organization/projects) of the organization is guided and managed by the “Finance and Accounts Policy” that ensures accuracy, transparency and accountability to all. The Bank Accounts are jointly operated by the ED, president or Treasurer. Usually the organization and program accounts follow the calendar year and cash basis accounting system; however, different project accounts are managed through individual bank account, time frame and accounting system as necessary. Registered independent audit farm enlisted with the NGO Affairs Bureau and appointed by the EC audits the accounts (organization/project) on annual basis.
